COVID-19 update | Elliotts

It’s a situation we all hoped we wouldn’t find ourselves in again, but the country is now in a second COVID-19 lockdown.

So what are the rules this time around, and what support is there for tradespeople and construction business owners?

Will construction workers still be able to go to work?

Yes, if it is safe for you to do so. Tradespeople can also continue to work in customer homes, if they are following social distancing guidelines.

In a further message to “The Housing Industry”, Robert Jenrick and members from the Federation of Master Builders and the House Builders Federation, said:

"House building – and its supply chains – should continue working securely. The Government is clear that work can continue if this is done in line with public health guidance. Construction and other site workers can go to work. Care should be taken to respect social distancing while travelling to and from work as well as in the workplace.

Home repairs and maintenance can continue."
