What sizes do sandstone paving slabs come in?
Our Indian sandstone paving slabs are available in a range of sizes to suit different patio layouts and design styles:
- 900 x 600mm — the most popular size for UK garden patios, offering a spacious, well-proportioned look
- 600 x 600mm — a versatile square format that works well in both traditional and contemporary settings
- 600 x 290mm — ideal for creating running bond or mixed patterns
- 290 x 290mm — a smaller slab suited to pathways, stepping stones, or feature detailing
All slabs are 18mm calibrated, meaning they are cut to a consistent thickness for easier, more straightforward laying. We also stock sandstone paving packs if you're looking for a convenient mixed-size solution for a complete patio area.
What is calibrated sandstone paving?
Calibrated sandstone means the slabs have been machine-cut to a uniform thickness. This makes them significantly easier to lay than uncalibrated stone, as you won't need to account for large variations in thickness between individual slabs when bedding them in mortar. For most DIY and trade installations, calibrated Indian sandstone is the preferred choice.
