Yes, sandstone paving will need to be sealed if you want to keep it looking its best and get a long life out of it. Sandstone is a porous material which makes it great for garden patios, but it does require maintenance.
Some sandstone sealers will also enhance the natural colours of your slabs. However, you can choose to not seal your sandstone patio and let it fade and wear down over time.
