How to create the ultimate low-maintenance garden

Gardens are now working as an extension of our homes as an additional living space.

But with time being a precious commodity, how do you create a beautiful garden without the continual maintenance?

Steve Lawless, Landscaping Products Manager, looks at 3 products will help create the ultimate low-maintenance space.

Artificial grass

It’s come a long way over the last few years and no longer has the ‘astro turf’ label that it used to. You could easily mistake some lawns for being real. By opting for artificial grass, you get the look and feel of a real lawn without the need for mowing, watering or re-seeding.

Check out this guide on finding the right artificial grass for your garden.

Composite decking

Composite has become extremely popular with people who want a great looking deck all year round. It is resistant to mould and requires no treatment, unlike traditional timber decking. A lot of composite decking also has very good slip resistance, making it perfect for family members young and old.

There are plenty of decking styles to suit all gardens by brands such as Millboard and Trex.

Could composite spell the end of traditional timber decking? Check out our thoughts.

Composite fencing

A concept that’s relatively new to the UK, composite fencing has been hugely popular across Europe. However, we expect the market to really grow in the UK. Think composite decking…but for fencing!

With no need for sanding or painting, composite fencing will look amazing all year round. Its slot-in panels also make it easy to install. Our composite fencing comes in charcoal, grey and mocha with a reversible sanded or woodgrain finish.

This is available from stock at our Fareham branch, but can be ordered from all merchant branches.
