Supplier Pricing Updates

Our suppliers are continuing to face increasing costs of raw materials, energy, labour, and transport, as well as pressures in terms of their manufacturing costs and rising inflation, which of course get passed on through the supply chain.

We have a dedicated team who work constantly to manage our pricing across thousands of product lines, and they work closely with our suppliers to challenge and scrutinize price increases, ensuring they are justifiable. We work in partnership with reputable buying groups to achieve the best possible cost prices and in turn list prices for our customers.

These pricing updates don't apply to all products in the product category groups. Please speak to your local branch or your Account Manager, who will be able to support you with additional details and information.

Please view the price changes for February 2024 below.

As we head into 2024, we wanted to share insights regarding the pricing of building materials for the upcoming months. Understanding the impact of market dynamics on your planning is crucial, and we aim to provide you with the most accurate information we can.

In January some key commodities will experience increases, but the broader picture is one of cautiousness among suppliers. Many are refraining from immediate price hikes in January, unlike pre-COVID trends, but are advising of moves in the early part of next year.

With a continued decline in new housing starts, lack of appetite for major DIY projects and increased mortgage costs bringing the market down, some manufacturers are adopting a wait-and-watch approach, monitoring market fluctuations before making pricing decisions. This aims to balance the impact of rising costs—be it labour, raw materials, or fuel—against current market conditions without suppressing demand.
We understand the importance of early notification to aid your planning process. Rest assured, we're actively monitoring these developments, engaging with suppliers, and striving to secure pricing clarity to support you with your upcoming projects in 2024 and beyond.

As always, the team here at Elliotts are dedicated to our mission of helping you build, your continued support and understanding are deeply appreciated as we navigate these evolving market conditions together.
