Aerated blocks, also known as aerated concrete blocks or autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) blocks, are lightweight, precast blocks used in walls, partitions and load-bearing structures.
We stock concrete blocks to suit a range of projects, including coursing bricks, standard blocks and Thermalite Hi-Strength blocks.
How do aerated blocks work?
Made from a combination of fine aggregates, cement, lime and water, an added expansion agent (typically aluminum powder) creates tiny air pockets throughout the block, giving it a low density and making it lightweight.
