Following the success of our current apprenticeship scheme, we're looking to recruit more to be our stars of the future!

Our apprenticeships cover a whole host of areas from learning what it takes to run a branch yard to how to design a bathroom.  As an Elliotts Apprentice - you will learn by doing and you will be earning at the same time and with all that under your belt, there is every chance for you to embark on a successful career with Elliotts.  The programme covers both NVQ Level 2 Customer Service (equivalent to 5 GCSE's) and NVQ Level 3 (equivalent to 2 A Levels) - depending upon the type of apprenticeship undertaken; this will run for either 13 or 15 months.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • With support and guidance you will work alongside the team, serving our trade and retail customers at the counter and over the telephone (negotiating prices after training)
  • Offering and providing exceptional service to our customers
  • Actively learn about products, in order to be able to advise customers on various materials
  • Learning about all areas of the business which will give you a good overview of the whole operation from start to finish


Requirements: 
  • An interest in building materials or the construction industry
  • If you have previous experience in a customer facing role that would be great, but having a happy enquiring personality is more important
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Excellent communication skills - face to face and over the telephone in order to communicate professionally with our customers
  • Sound IT skills (ability to Microsoft Office)


Training:

  • Training will be delivered via a combination of: day release to our apprenticeship provider PETA, "on the job" with regular visits from your trainer, internal via completion of online product knowledge modules in our e-academy and supplier training.
