Elliotts - Sales Consultant

Our Sales Hub, based in our Southampton Office is responsible for the company's bulk deliveries, specialist products, large contracts and accounts for 20% for the company's sales.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support one of our Product Managers, including dealing with enquiries and orders, maintaining existing sales whilst seeking opportunities to develop new business for certain products.  This is a new role and will include an extensive training programme for both sales techniques and product knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Effectively dealing with customers both over the phone and face to face from the initial enquiry stage and then following the sales process through from start to finish.  This will include but not limited to:
    • Producing quotes
    • Raising orders
    • Invoicing

 

  • Sourcing products and negotiating prices with suppliers to quote competitively while maintaining an acceptable profit margin
  • Dealing with a wide variety of queries from customers
  • Supporting our external sales team with their customers and where necessary taking on the role of their internal contact
  • Taking ownership of all invoicing and admin related tasks for the division

 

 

 

Requirements: 
  • Proactive attitude towards sales with the ability to recognize an opportunity to up sell and supply a wider range of building materials than the initial enquiry required
  • The ability to work effectively and professionally with our current customers and suppliers is extremely important, as is the ability to forge new relationships with the propsective customers and suppliers
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to understand profit, margins etc
  • Excellent organisation skills and methodical approach
  • A good knowledge of the building process is preferable
  • Sense of humor
