ERP Support Apprentice

We have an excellent opportunity to take on an apprentice in our busy Business Systems office, based in Southampton.The successful candidate will be enrolled on an 18-24 month Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship and will achieve a Level 3 qualification. They will be involved in a wide range of tasks, dealing with how business systems are delivered throughout the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To provide exceptional support to all employees for the primary ERP trading software, within an integrated software framework.To provide best practice ERP usage guidance across all our branches.Working with the Business Systems Team’s application developers, to provide testing and quality assurance to new systems and procedures.Support

  • Handle all ERP (BisTrack) support queries from both branch and head office
  • Various ERP system corrections as a result of system and/or user error
  • Pro-active monitoring of ERP error logs
  • First line support for all calls raised from the branches
  • Manage support calls with our IT partners where required

Maintenance

  • Manage user accounts and permissions in the ERP
  • Maintenance of periodic invoice, credit and statement routines, ensuring documents arrive correctly with customers
  • Manage new and existing users’ AD and email accounts
  • Maintenance of intranet document content
  • Manage the company’s IT asset register

Development

  • Production of how-to documentation for ERP operation best practices
  • Conduct system testing for new systems/procedures
  • Support development of ERP document format and content (after training on Crystal Reports)
  • Support development of T-SQL routines to manage ERP data (after training on SQL Server)

Training

  • New user training on the ERP
  • Regular branch visits to run training clinics for the ERP (initially supported by the Business Systems team’s Application Specialist)
  • Support user training for new systems/procedures

Ad-hoc projects allocated by your manager

Requirements: 

Mandatory

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • General IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Methodical work process to ensure high standards and accuracy are maintained throughout
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as working within a team
  • Plan and organise workload to meet strict deadlines

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the building and construction industry
  • Experience of Windows Server environment
